New works at Soper Creek Trail to start this week

Beginning the week of August 12, crews will begin the next phase of construction on the Soper Creek trail to continue the three-metre-wide paved asphalt trail out to Cotton Street.

Work is anticipated to take approximately seven weeks to complete.

The work will also include the installation of a retaining wall, signage, amenities and restorative landscaping, said the Municipality of Clarington.

Construction access will primarily be off Cotton Street and Sprucewood Crescent in Bowmanville. To protect the public and ensure safety, access to Soper Creek Trail within the construction zone will be restricted. Notice and signage will be provided prior to closure.

Access to properties fronting these roads will be maintained at all times. Garbage and recycling pick-up or deliveries (including mail) should not be disrupted by construction.
