The City of Oshawa will release the fall/winter edition of the activeOshawa Recreation Guide on Wednesday, August 14 at Oshawa.ca/activeOshawa.
The city said it will open registration for fall swimming lessons only on Tuesday, August 20, at 9 am. Registration for general fall recreation programs, including arts and crafts, dance, music, fitness, and holiday camps, will begin on Thursday, August 22, at 9 am.
Community members can register at activeOshawa Online or in person at a city recreation facility.
Due to high demand during registration, users may experience delays. To address this, the city has increased system capacity and implemented a website queue when visiting activeOshawa Online, to better manage high traffic on registration days and improve the user experience.
Community members are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the program selection and activeOshawa account setup processes, including setting up a family group account. For registration assistance, visit our activeOshawa Online Help for resources.
Here’s how you can be prepared for online registration:
- If you do not have an activeOshawa account, create a new account
- If you have forgotten your password, request a password reset
- If you have an existing activeOshawa account but have not activated it online, activate your account
- If you plan to register your child(ren) or family members for programs, log in to your account and update or add your family group under “My Groups”
- If you are unsure of your child’s swim level, visit a recreation facility during public swim hours for a complimentary swim assessment or contact Service Oshawa at 905-436-3311 to connect with an Aquatic Coordinator
- If you need to update your email address, email activeOshawa@oshawa.ca
During peak registration periods, successful registrations will appear under “My Courses” in the pending courses filter and will result in a credit appearing on your account until the invoice is created and sent.
Invoices may take several hours to receive. Once your invoice has been created, the credit will be applied to your invoice, and your registrations will move to the current and future courses filter in “My Courses.”
If you do not see a credit appearing on your account for your course(s), email activeOshawa@oshawa.ca immediately.
Accepted online payment options are MasterCard, American Express, Visa, and Visa debit. MasterCard debit and American Express debit are not accepted.
In-person registration will be available at the following facilities. Community members will receive an immediate confirmation of enrollment once the transaction is complete.
For faster service, please print and complete the registration form in advance. In-person payment options include cash, debit, American Express, MasterCard, Visa and cheques payable to the City of Oshawa.
Community members visiting a recreation facility on registration days may experience delays accessing services typically available at reception desks. This includes purchasing a membership, paying for activity admissions, or completing a rental request.
It’s never too early to begin planning for the winter holiday break. The Fall/Winter Recreation Guide will feature a variety of Holiday Camps with activities for children ages 4 to 13. Visit Register.oshawa.ca to sign up.
