Officer, driver hurt as stolen taxi crashes into cruiser

Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) yesterday said one of its officers was injured in a collision north Pickering

The other driver, was airlifted to a trauma centre with serious injuries.

“This morning an officer suffered serious but non life threatening injuries after his parked police vehicle was struck by a stolen taxi,” said a police tweet.

“Suspect was airlifted to a trauma centre with serious injuries,” added.

The tweet said the incident happened on Concession Road 9 and Westney Road North at 5 am.

No further details were released.
