Officers narrowly escape injury as woman crashes out

Durham Police yesterday said a 29-year-old female is facing charges after police attempted to take her into custody on outstanding warrants.

On April 26 at about 3:30 pm, members from West Division attended an address in the area of Brennan Road and Daniels Crescent in Ajax in an attempt to arrest a female who was wanted on outstanding warrants.

As officers approached the female, she fled in a vehicle, striking other vehicles, including police vehicles, and narrowly missed striking officers, said a police statement.

On Tuesday, May 9, the Offender Management Unit assisted by the Tactical Support Unit attended the area of Kingston Road and Notion Road in Ajax and executed a search warrant where the suspect was taken into custody without incident.

The suspect of Toronto has been charged and was held for a bail hearing. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.
