One charged over bar shooting, other still at large

Durham Police investigators have arrested and charged a 27-year-old male with Attempt Murder in connection with a shooting in Pickering last Friday.  The second suspect remains outstanding.

On May 5 at about 11:30 pm, members from West Division responded to The Harp and Crown Pub located at 300 Kingston Road in Pickering after receiving information that a fight was taking place inside the bar.

During the altercation one male sustained a gunshot wound and was taken to a Toronto-area trauma centre where he is listed in serious but stable condition, said a police statement.

A 27-year old of Toronto is charged and was held for bail hearing. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.

Police are appealing to anyone who was inside the bar at the time of the altercation and may have any information to come forward.  Any witnesses with cellphone video are also encouraged to come forward and speak with investigators.
