Old Circle K robber caught, new robber sought

A 31-year-old Oshawa man has been arrested in connection with a convenience store robbery that occurred in the city on October 4.

On Friday, members of the DRPS Robbery Unit arrested the male suspect at his residence on Ritson Road South in Oshawa. He was wanted in connection with the robbery of a Circle K convenience store.

William Downey has been charged with Robbery, Disguise with Intent and Breach Probation. He was held for a bail hearing.

New robbery at same store

Durham Police are looking for an armed suspect who fled the scene of an armed robbery of a convenience store in Oshawa on Monday

On October 28, at 6:45 am, members of Central East Division were called to the Circle K convenience store on King Street East in Oshawa for a robbery. A lone male entered the store, approached the lone clerk and pulled out a handgun and made a demand for cash. The suspect fled on foot taking cash, lottery tickets and cigarettes. Police searched the area with negative results.

The clerk was not physically harmed during the incident.

The suspect is described as male, white, he was wearing a light blue-hooded sweater, black track pants and blue running shoes. He was armed with a handgun.
