One injured during violent home invasion in Whitby

Durham Police investigators are searching for three suspects following a violent home-invasion style robbery at a residence in Whitby.

On July 5 at about 4:10 pm, members from Central West Division responded to a home-invasion style robbery at a residence in the area of Dufferin Street and Watson Street East. Three suspects entered the home wearing face coverings and confronted the 34-year-old male victim who was struck several times and once with an object. The suspects fled the residence on foot with various items. Two vehicles were seen leaving the area. The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries, police said.

Officers collected evidence and completed an extensive canvass of the area.

Suspect #1- is described as male, Black, approximately 5’10”-tall, slim build and short dark hair. He was wearing a blue cotton mask and a grey zippered sweater or jacket.

Suspect #2- is described as male, Black, taller than Suspect #1, with a slim build.

Suspect #3- is described as male Black.

Suspect vehicle #1- is described as a silver Hyundai sedan.

Suspect vehicle #2- is described as a silver sedan.
