Oshawa announces construction at two parks

The City of Oshawa will be undertaking construction of Cordova Valley Park including site grading, a paved parking lot, new playground and splash pad, safety surfacing, soccer field, pathways, site furnishings and plantings.

  • Where: 811 Glen Street.
  • When: 7 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday, May 2022 to late 2022.

For public safety, Cordova Valley Park will be closed and fenced during construction.

Pedestrian access between Glen Street and the Joseph Kolodzie Oshawa Creek Bike Path will be provided outside of the fenced construction area, where feasible, said a city statement.

From time to time, heavy equipment will need to access the site from Glen Street or Malaga Road, and associated noise levels may increase during these times, it added.

Fenelon/Venus Park

Oshawa is also undertaking construction of Fenelon/Venus Park including site grading, pathways, playground and safety surfacing, and site furnishings.

  • Where: 1230 Venus Crescent.
  • When: 7 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday, May 2022 to late 2022.

For public safety, Fenelon/Venus Park will be closed and fenced during construction. There will be no access to the park pathway connection between Fenelon Crescent and Venus Crescent.

From time to time, heavy equipment will need to access the site from Fenelon Crescent or Venus Crescent, and associated noise levels may increase during these times.
