Oshawa Parties: Bikes on Bond & Kars on King

Since 2012, motorcyclists have been coming from all over Ontario and Quebec for the Bikes on Bond annual event, parking in Downtown Oshawa and showing off their rides. Same this year, for on Saturday, August 10 from 11 am until 5 pm on King Street in between Simcoe and Mary Street, see motorcycles being displayed and interact with other motorcycle lovers!

Hosted by Downtown Oshawa BIA, this family-friendly event offers a variety of activities from viewing cool motorcycles to face-painting, and balloon twisting.

“Bikes on Bond has become an Oshawa Downtown BIA signature event, bringing in thousands of people annually – we are excited to see them back,” said Amanda MacDonald, Executive Director of Oshawa Downtown BIA

“[Bikes on Bond] is a really good event. It’s a miniature Port Dover,” says Bruno Marchese, Owner of Bruno’s Barber Shop.

Kars on King

The time has come again to kick off the Autofest weekend with Kars on King on Friday, August 23 from 3 pm to 9 pm.

There will be hundreds of classic cars from across North America.

Hosted by Downtown Oshawa BIA and the Canadian Automotive Museum, over 400 classic cars park on King and Simcoe Street every year to show-off and celebrate interesting and unique cars. In attendance will be the Paul James Band on stage.

This year, an exciting new change has been made – Kars on King will now have a Kidz Zone. It will include fun activities like a bouncy castle, an obstacle course, archery, and other fun activities. Every year, this event brings the Durham Region into the downtown area where people can enjoy the variety of local businesses and food while also having the chance to see unique classic cars.

If your car is from 1989 or older and you would like to show it off to the community, come on down early to the event – no registration is necessary, but the street fills up early.

If you would like to be a vendor or volunteer at both or either event, please contact Angela at admin@downtownoshawa.ca.
