Pickering Animal Services offers ‘adoptable pets’ this week

Pickering Animal Services (PAS) has partnered with PetSmart Charities of Canada to bring adoptable pets to the local PetSmart in support of National Adoption Week (November 8–14).

PAS will bring animals from their care into the PetSmart located at 1899 Brock Road in hopes of them finding their forever homes, said a statement.

Attendees will have the opportunity to spend time with the animals to make connections, learn more about them, and explore the types of products they would need as potential pet owners.

“Since 2020, we have adopted out 202 animals through PetSmart alone, and I am hoping that this adoption event will bring us to 250 adoptions,” said Lindsey Narraway, Supervisor, Pickering Animal Services. “We plan to have plenty of cats and kittens, and also a few small animals at the store. Animal Services will also have rabbits, rats, and a dog available for adoption directly from our shelter.”

“Helping our partners find perfect matches for pets in their care helps us to fulfill our mission to bring people and pets together,” said Andrew Fraser, Adoption Grants Manager, PetSmart Charities of Canada. “The pandemic taught us all just how much pets save us as much as we save them.”
