Police appealing for witnesses in arson case

Durham Police investigators are looking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect who intentionally started a fire at a home in Oshawa.

On Friday, April 29 at about 4:30 pm, members of Central East Division responded to a house fire in the area of Fernhill Boulevard and Rossland Road West in Oshawa.

Officers arrived on scene to assist Oshawa Fire Services with the home that was engulfed by the fire. The home was unoccupied at the time and no injuries were reported. The fire has been deemed suspicious by the Oshawa Services Fire Prevention Inspector, said a police statement.

Investigators are requesting the public’s assistance with any information including video surveillance and dash cam footage.
