Police searching for sex predator on Uxbridge trail

Durham Police are looking to identify a suspect after a female was sexually assaulted.

On Sunday, July 30, at about 5:30 pm, a female was walking on the Ewen Trail, in the vicinity of Munro Crescent, in Uxbridge.

The victim passed the suspect, and then noted the suspect following closely behind her. The suspect grabbed the victim and touched her inappropriately. The victim was able to break free from the suspect and ran to the nearby neighbourhood and called police, said a police statement.

The suspect is described as: male, White with tanned complexion, 30-40 years of age, stocky build, shoulder length long shaggy brown hair, shaggy beard. At the time he was wearing a dark coloured baseball hat, dark teal shirt and jeans.

Investigators want to ensure there are no further victims and make an appeal for any witnesses to come forward.
