Quebec man arrested in Durham human trafficking case

A male has been arrested in a human trafficking case and investigators want to ensure there are no further victims, said Durham Police yesterday.

On February 2, members of the DRPS Human Trafficking Unit conducted a proactive investigation at a hotel in Whitby. As a result of the investigation one male suspect was arrested.

The suspect from Laval, Quebec, is charged with; Obtaining Sexual Services for Consideration; Material Benefit from Sexual Services; Procuring Person to Provide Sexual Services for Consideration x1; Procure to be Made, Possess, Transfer, Sell Identity Document of Another x1; Utter Forged Document x1; Possess Other Schedule I x1; Fail to Comply Probation Order x2. He was held for a bail hearing.

Investigators are releasing the photo of the suspect to ensure there are no other victims. A photo of the suspect can be viewed at www.drps.ca under Newsroom.
