Quebec men caught with gun at Oshawa traffic stop

Two Quebec men face numerous charges after police seized a firearm and cash during a traffic stop in Oshawa Saturday afternoon.

On February 19 at about 2:25 pm, members of Central East Division conducted a traffic stop in the area of Bloor Street West and Stevenson Road South and the occupants of the motor vehicle were investigated. Further investigation revealed that the driver of a red Nissan Sentra had a loaded handgun in his possession. The driver and passenger face a combined 21 criminal charges.

Both were charged with numerous firearms-related offences including: Fail to Comply; Unauthorized Possession of a Restricted/Prohibited Firearm; Unauthorized Possess Restricted/Prohibited Firearm in a Motor Vehicle; Drive Vehicle with Cannabis Readily Available and Possess Loaded Restricted/Prohibited Firearm.

They were held for a bail hearing. More details at www.drps.ca.
