Ribfest kicks off June 13, but watch out for week of closures

The Pickering Rotary Club, in cooperation with the City of Pickering will be hosting the Rotary Ribfest event from Friday, June 13 to Sunday June 15.

However, to facilitate the event, the City of Pickering will be enacting temporary closures from Tuesday, June 10 to Monday, June 16 for The Esplanade South, The Esplanade North and the Pickering Civic Complex Parking Lot.

The closures:

Pickering Civic Complex Parking Lot – the Pickering Civic Complex parking lot will be closed on Tuesday, June 10 at 7 am. The parking lot will re-open on Monday, June 16 at 7 am.

Pickering Civic Complex Turning Circle – will be closed Friday, June 13 at 11 am until Sunday, June 15 at 10 pm.

Chestnut Hill Developments Recreation Complex Gravel Parking Lot – will be closed on Thursday, June 12 at 7 am to Monday, June 16 at 12 pm.

The Esplanade South – will be closed from Valley Farm Road to Glenanna Road on Thursday, June 12 at 7 am to Monday, June 16 at 7 am. Both sidewalks on The Esplanade South will not be accessible during the closure. At 7 am the closure of The Esplanade South will move east of the Civic Complex Parking Lot to partially re-open the road and allow eastbound access to the Pickering Civic Complex Parking Lot. The Esplanade South will fully re-open at 12 pm.

The Esplanade North – will be closed from Valley Farm Road to the Pickering Civic Complex underground parking ramp on Thursday, June 12 at 7 am to Monday, June 16 at 7 am. Both sidewalks on The Esplanade North will remain open during the event.

Temporary Accessible Parking – will be available on a portion of the east side of Glenanna Road (south of The Esplanade South), and on a portion of the south side of The Esplanade North from Thursday, June 12 at 7 am to Monday, June 16 at 7 am.
