An illegal cannabis dispensary in Oshawa has been shut down following a joint investigation by the Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) and the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).
According to police, the investigation began in May when members of the DRPS Central East Community Response Unit and the OPP-led Provincial Joint Forces Cannabis Enforcement Team (PJFCET) began looking into the operation of an unlicensed store.
Officers entered the dispensary and seized a quantity of illegal cannabis, tobacco products, and cash. The estimated value of the seized cannabis products exceeds $139,000.
The business has since been closed, and one individual has been arrested in connection with the investigation.
