Road rage man knocks victim down with car

A Port Perry man faces numerous firearms-related charges after a road rage incident last week in Pickering.

On December 22, at about 1:45 pm, a 38-year-old male from Port Perry who was operating a Mazda vehicle and became involved in a road rage incident with the driver of a Dodge Charger in the area of Brock Road and Bayly Street in Pickering, said a police statement.

The suspect used his vehicle and rammed the Charger numerous times. The suspect vehicle sped off and the victim followed him to an intersection nearby in Pickering to confront him. The victim exited his vehicle and was knocked to the ground by the Mazda, police said.

The suspect fled the area and police later located the abandoned suspect vehicle on Dillingham Road in Pickering. Witnesses and video surveillance observed the suspect discarding numerous items on the ground and in the bed of an unoccupied pick-up truck. Police located a firearm, ammo, heroin and cocaine.

Investigators from West Division with the assistance of the Gun and Gang Unit arrested the suspect in Trenton the next day.

Andrew Scott, age 38, faces 19 criminal charges including: Dangerous Driving; Assault with a Weapon;Fail to Remain; Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking x2; Weapons Dangerous; Occupy Motor Vehicle with a Firearm; Possession of Prohibited or Restricted Firearm Unauthorized; Careless Use of a Firearm Possession of Proceeds of Crime Under $5,000 and Possess Firearm No Licence.

He was held for a bail hearing.
