The Municipality of Clarington has announced that Baseline Road will close at the CPKC rail crossing from Monday, October 21, to Friday, October 25.
The closure is required for safe rail line reconstruction.
There will be soft closures at the intersections of Baseline Road and Rundle Road and Baseline Road and Holt Road. There will be a hard closure on Baseline Road at the railway crossing, the municipality said.
It said the hard road closures block the entire road, preventing motorists, cyclists, pedestrians, and emergency vehicles from passing. Soft road closures allow local traffic to access homes, businesses, or properties up until the point of a hard road closure.
