Weeks long drilling at PAWO Lakeshore East starts today

As part of investigative work for the GO Expansion project, crews will be drilling vertical boreholes to assess ground conditions within the Lakeshore East (LSE) rail corridor.

Overnight Geotechnical Investigative Work will start at at Whitby/Oshawa today (October 21), and later at Pickering and Ajax.

This work will support future track and infrastructure updates. For safety reasons, this work may take place overnight when revenue trains are not in service, said Metrolinx, the operator of GO Transit.

Here’s what you need to know:

  • Drilling is expected to take place overnight Monday – Sunday beginning October 21.
  • Work is expected between 8 pm and 5 am and will move within the area highlighted on the map (below) for approximately three weeks.
  • There are no anticipated impacts to pedestrians, motorists, or transit.

Pickering/Ajax
