Robber punches victim in throat and flees

Durham Police investigators are asking the public to help identify an armed suspect in a street-level robbery which occurred early yesterday morning in Oshawa.

On Friday, October 23, at about 6 am, members of East Division were called to the area of Kelly Avenue and Wilson Road in Oshawa following a street-level robbery. The male victim was walking eastbound when an unknown suspect approached him. The suspect made a demand for his phone and punched the victim in the throat. The suspect brandished a firearm, threatening the victim and then fled on foot without any property, said a police statement.

Officers searched the area, with negative results.

The suspect is described as a male, white, 6′ tall, grey hair. He was wearing a black jacket, dark jeans, dark back pack and wore a black bandana over his face.
