A 19-year-old male is in hospital with serious injuries after a head-on collision with a tractor-trailer in Whitby on Friday morning.
This is the second same day same time head-on crash reported with a previous one in Oshawa which sent b0th drivers to hospital (see below).
On March 7 at about 8 am, members from Central West Division responded to a motor vehicle collision involving two motor vehicles on Lakeridge Road, south of Peleshok Drive. A Honda CRV, traveling southbound, lost control and veered into the path of a northbound tractor-trailer, resulting in a head-on collision. The impact caused severe damage to both vehicles, police said.
The male driver of the Honda CRV was taken to a Toronto-area trauma centre with serious life-altering injuries. The 45-year-old male driver of the tractor-trailer sustained no injuries.
Members of the DRPS – Collision Investigation Unit, attended the scene to conduct an investigation. The area of the roadway was closed for several hours while evidence was collected. This collision is still under investigation.
