Free tax clinics to help Durham residents access benefits

Durham Region residents who experience economic hardship, unemployment, or who have no income, can get help with filing their taxes for free.

According to Durham Region officials, eligible residents can access benefits and credits that would put money in their pockets and help cover basic needs through tax filing. There are more than 40 benefits and credits in Ontario; many can only be accessed by filing taxes.

The free tax clinics, available in in-person, drop-off, and virtual formats, are set up across Durham Region to support eligible residents.

For more details on clinic locations and to learn how to access these services, residents are encouraged to visit durham.ca/FileYourTaxes.
