Five Scugog youth groups were awarded funds from the 2023 Fore Scugog Charity Golf Tournament, in addition to the annual contribution to the Port Perry High School Bursary Program.
The decision was made during yesterday’s General Purpose and Administration meeting of the township. It did not reveal the amounts of the funding.
The receipents are:
- Big Brothers Big Sisters of North Durham requested funding to support volunteer recruitment for school-based and traditional mentoring programs.
- Blackstock Minor Hockey League requested funding for additional ice time for their girl’s division, and the purchase of jerseys for the 18-week season.
- Greenbank Basketball Club requested funds to support their operating costs including referees, and to purchase permanent benches.
- 41 Port Perry Army Cadets Support Committee requested funds to enhance educational off-site events, to purchase new equipment and apparel and to assist with administrative costs.
- Port Perry Figure Skating Club requested funds to support their ice costs, coaching, and ice shows.
This year the 23rd annual Fore Scugog Golf Tournament will be held September 12 at Sunnybrae Golf Club.
The Fore Scugog Charity Golf Tournament is hosted annually by the Township of Scugog raising funds for Scugog Youth Initiatives.
