Durham Police have arrested one male and are searching for another male after an arson attack in Oshawa.
On Sunday, December 3, members of East Division responded to a fire call in the area of Jim Brewster Circle and Fleetwood Drive. Two males were seen fleeing the area in a dark coloured BMW sedan after a home was lit on fire. Investigators, along with the Ontario Fire Marshal, determined that the fire was the result of arson. The BMW was later confirmed to be a stolen vehicle.
On Sunday, September 9, the first suspect was taken into custody. The second suspect is still absconding.
The male, age 20 from Scarborough, was charged. Police did not say whether the suspect was held for bail or released on an undertaking.
