An application to develop a site for a new 11-storey residential/commercial mixed-use building containing 167 apartment units and 90.95m2 of commercial floor space, has been received by Oshawa.
The application has been submitted by JKO Planning Services on behalf of 1000645992 Ontario Ltd. for lands at 121, 125 and 131 Bloor Street East (see map below), said a city statement.
It said the purpose of these applications is to:
- Amend the Oshawa Official Plan to add a site specific policy to permit the proposed residential density of 681 units per hectare; and,
- Amend Zoning By-law 60-94 by rezoning the lands from PSC-A (Planned Strip Commercial) to an appropriate site specific PSC-A (Planned Strip Commercial) Zone, to implement the proposed development with site specific standards such as, but not necessarily limited to, increased residential density and building height, and reduced building setbacks, parking supply and parking aisle widths
For the purpose, a Planning Act public meeting was scheduled to be held today evening at City Hall regarding applications to amend the Oshawa Official Plan (File: OPA-2024-02), and Zoning By-law 60-94 (File: Z-2024-02).
The Oshawa Economic and Development Services Committee will be considering the applications, which have been determined to be complete.
