Scugog restricts street parking from 2am to 6am

Scugog Municipal Law Enforcement Office has begun to implement no parking on township roads from November 1 to April 15 between 2 am and 6 am.

It has issued Winter By-law Reminders, which include:

  1. Overnight parking is not permitted on township roads starting November 1 until April 15, whether there is snow on the ground or not. Vehicles parked on the roads or shoulder between 2 am and 6 am will be subject to a $30 fine and may be towed at the owner’s expense.
  2. Vehicles parked on roads during or immediately following snow events that are interfering with snow removal will be subject to a $45 fine and may be towed at the owner’s expense.
  3. Parking on cul-de-sacs, on roadways 6 metres or less in width and on any road for more than 3 hours is also prohibited and subject to a $30 fine and towing.
  4. Property owners are responsible for removing snow and ice from sidewalks adjacent to their properties within 24 hours after a winter event.

The Township of Scugog appreciates the efforts of its residents to assist in safe and efficient snow removal operations, said a statement.
