Seniors residence staff caught stealing multiple times

Durham Police yesterday said a female employee has been arrested after she committed multiple break-and-enters and thefts at a retirement residence in Whitby.

On Thursday, January 4, members of the Central West Division Criminal Investigations Branch concluded an investigation into a female who committed multiple break-and-enters and thefts at a retirement home located near Brock Street North and Taunton Road East, in Whitby.

The female was observed on camera entering the rooms of several residents, stealing items and cash. The female was internally investigated by the retirement home and her employment was terminated, said a police statement.

The suspect, age 30 from Whitby was charged and released on an undertaking. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.
