Several trucks placed out of service for safety defects

DRPS Traffic Services said several trucks have been placed out of service for safety defects.

During RIDE inspections, along with Ministry of Transport Ontario, in the Town of Whitby, Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS), said several fines were issued.

However, it was happy to report that there were “no alcohol-related offences amongst those inspected, thankfully”.

In another joint operation, this time with Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Durham Police said: “Unfortunately tonight one party was arrested for impaired.

“On a positive note 12 others were roadside tested and passed, hundreds of drivers checked. Please drive safe and drive sober. ”

It said partnering with OPP Highway Safety Division for RIDE is always a pleasure.
