She used stolen security cam to take pictures of herself

On July 9, officers from Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) North Division arrested a suspect after she used a stolen camera to take pictures of herself.

In May, DRPS received a report of a stolen surveillance camera from a property.

The suspect proceeded to take pictures of themselves with the stolen camera, which were remotely sent to the owner, unbeknownst to the suspect.

The photo of the suspect was sent to the police, who then identified the suspect and her location. Investigators executed a search warrant and located the stolen property. The suspect was arrested and the camera was returned to its rightful owner.

A 48 year old female from Brock is charged with possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, she was released on an undertaking.
