Shots fired, casings found… but no victim or suspect

Durham police are asking for the public’s help following a late-night shooting in Ajax over the weekend.

Officers from West Division responded to reports of an armed person near Bayly Street West and Kitney Drive around 11:55 pm on Sunday, July 27. Police say multiple gunshots were heard in the area, and several people were seen fleeing the scene.

When officers arrived, they found a number of shell casings, but no victims were located and no injuries have been reported at this time.

Investigators are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or has video footage—such as dash cam recordings—to come forward.
