Sixteen-year old girl charged for chasing, stabbing male teen

Durham Police said a female youth has been arrested following an investigation into a stabbing in Oshawa.

On Saturday, May 11 at about 10:55 pm, members of Central East Division responded to an armed person call in the area of Beatrice Street East and Wilson Road North.

Three male youth were in the company of two female youth near a residence in Oshawa. The three males left the area but later saw the two females again. During this second meeting, one of the females brandished a knife and chased the males. The suspect used the knife to stab the victim multiple times, said a police report.

The victim was transported to a Toronto area trauma centre with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

On Tuesday, May 21, following the completion of the investigation, members of the Central East Division Criminal Investigations Branch located the suspect and took her into custody without incident.

A 16-year-old female from Toronto was charged and held for a bail hearing.
