Stabbed man in trauma centre, suspect at large

Durham Police said a male was rushed to a Toronto area trauma centre after being stabbed during an altercation in Ajax.

On Thursday, July 11 at about 1:30 pm, members of West Division responded to an armed person call in the area of Bayly Street and Burcher Road.

The suspect and victim were involved in an altercation which resulted in the victim being stabbed. The victim was transported to a Toronto area trauma centre with life threatening injuries. The suspect fled the area in a red vehicle, said police.

The victim’s condition has since been upgraded to stable. The suspect is described as: male, Black, wearing a face mask.
