Stolen credit card data used to buy generators

Durham Police said a 33-year-old male is wanted after an investigation by the Financial Crimes Unit.

Financial Crimes officers concluded an investigation into the fraudulent use of stolen credit card data that occurred between January 1, and February 20. The suspect used stolen credit card data to fraudulently purchase Honda Generators from various businesses across Durham Region.

The man, age 33, of Mississauga, is wanted for numerous offences. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.

Anyone with new information about the suspect or this investigation is asked to contact Det. Chapman of the Financial Crimes Unit at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 5352.

Anonymous information can be sent to Durham Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) and tipsters may be eligible for a $2,000 cash reward.
