Suspect’s partner flashes gun after vicim pursues thief

Durham Police are looking for two male suspects after they stole a jacket during a Facebook marketplace sale in Whitby.

On Thursday, October 24, at about 7:20 pm, members of Central West Division responded to a robbery in the area of Rolling Acres Drive and Daines Drive.

The victim listed a jacket for sale on Facebook marketplace and agreed to meet a potential buyer near a public-school parking lot. The suspect put the jacket on and fled the area on foot. The victim chased the suspect but was met by a second male who flashed a firearm. The suspects fled the area in a grey Honda vehicle.

The victim did not sustain any physical injuries, police said.

The first suspect is described as: male, approximately 17-years-old, 5’8” – 5’9” tall, with curly dark hair. He was wearing a black and white sweater, grey ripped jeans, and Asics shoes.

The second suspect is described as: male, wearing a black ski mask, and dressed in all black clothing.
