Suspects who stole from and kicked victim, caught

DRPS officers have arrested two suspects after a 25-year old male was assaulted during a street- level robbery in Port Perry.

On Saturday, May 29, 2021, at approximately 4:45 p.m., members from North Division responded to a street-level robbery in the area of Scugog Street and Highway 7A. Officers located the victim who had injures after being kicked several times before the suspects stole items and fled on foot.

Officers located the first suspect and engaged in a foot pursuit before taking him into custody. The second suspect was located by officers and arrested a short time later.

Marek Ruchlewicz, age 23 of Uxbridge is charged with: Robbery; Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000 and Possession if a Schedule I Substance (cocaine).

Dalton Wilson, age 21 of Port Perry is charged with: Robbery and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000.

They were both held for a bail hearing.
