Passed-out driver wakes up, resists police, gets tased

An Oshawa male faces numerous charges after police seized drugs and a firearm during a traffic stop in Oshawa Sunday morning.

On September 19, at approximately 7 am, members of Central East Division conducted a traffic stop in the area of Farewell Street and Bloor Street East after finding the driver passed out behind the wheel at this intersection. Officers observed a firearm in the vehicle and attempted to arrest the driver. A struggle ensued and the officers utilized a CEW (controlled energy weapon = taser) to gain control of the male. The male was arrested without incident and police seized a loaded mini Glock, cocaine and fentanyl. The male was also impaired and faces impaired charges.

Nicholas Geness, age 27, of South Ocean Drive in Oshawa faces 12 charges which include: Impaired Operation Combined Alcohol and Drug Concentration; Possession of a Controlled Substance for The Purpose of Trafficking x2 (cocaine, fentanyl); Breach of Prohibition Order x2; Possess Loaded Restricted/Prohibited Firearm and Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm.

He was held for a bail hearing.

Police look for female who stabbed another teen girl

A 15-year-old female was taken to a local hospital after being stabbed in Oshawa Sunday evening.

On Sunday, September 19, at approximately 6:15 pm, members from Central East Division were called to the area of Glen Street and Medina Court for the report of a stabbing at a nearby school property. Officers arrived and located the 15-year-old victim who was suffering from injuries as a result of being stabbed. The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital. The female suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival.

The suspect is described as female, Black, in her teens, with dark hair in a bun. She wore a black track suit, white shoes.

Police look for witnesses-videos of shots fired in Oshawa

Police are investigating after shots were fired on a residential street in Oshawa on Saturday afternoon.

On Saturday, September 18, at approximately 3:20 pm, members from Central East Division were dispatched to the area of Hall Street near Simcoe Street for reports of gunshots. Officers attended the area and located shell casings. Two vehicles and a residence were located with damage from the gunshots. No injuries were reported.

A vehicle was observed leaving the area shortly after the time of the shooting. The vehicle is described as a dark pick-up truck.
