Teen battling stage 4 cancer running out of options unless…

A 19-year-old from Ajax named Ty has been battling Stage 4 gastro-oesophageal cancer for two years. Now there may a treatment to help him fight his cancer. But Ty needs your help to get there.

Ty has received care to date from the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto and Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. He has unfortunately continued to struggle and is nearing a turning point in his care.

Ty’s uncle, Jordan Hansford, an oncologist in Australia has developed a new clinical trial treatment for young people with brain cancer. The treatment uses  personalised mRNA vaccines. This treatment has been modelled on breakthrough results in pancreatic cancer research and can be extended to other cancers, says Hansford.

Professor Hansford hopes that this new treatment will be life saving for his nephew and many other children suffering from cancer. In order to get his nephew the lifesaving help he needs, he’s asking for assistance.

He stated that “As I do always in life, it will be paid forward to all those we can help as able. Please consider helping Ty….he is very proud, strong kid….who often refuses to ask for help, but needs it now.”

The goal is to raise $400,000 and approximately $41k has already been raised.

The GoFundMe for Tyler can be found here.
