The nose leads to unexpected results for OPP

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) had an unexpected result during a search thanks to the K-9 Unit of Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS).

On Monday night, PC Armstrong and police service dog (PSD) Axel assisted the OPP with the search of a vehicle suspected of containing a firearm.

During the search, K9 Axel did not locate the firearm; instead he located a white substance believed to be cocaine, said a tweet from the K-9 Unit.

One person was taken into custody it, said adding that “the nose knows” better.

No further details were made available.
