There’s a new place to play in Clarington

Members of Clarington Council held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the official opening of Brookhill Park on November 10.

Located at 2301 Green Road in Bowmanville, the new park includes accessible playground equipment for people of all abilities, wood fibre safety surfacing to reduce barriers to play, and a gazebo to provide shade. New benches and landscaping round out the complete park installation, said a municipal statement.

“We are the fastest-growing community in Durham. As we welcome new families to Clarington, it’s vital to greet them with the parks and greenspace they need to raise a family, connect with their neighbours, and grow Clarington’s reputation as one of the happiest places in Canada,” said Mayor Adrian Foster.

The Brookhill Park, part of the new Brookhill neighbourhood, was funded by development charges at a cost of approximately $300,000.
