Durham police yesterday said three males and one female are facing drug and firearm charges following a joint investigation between the Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) and the Toronto Police Service.
In April, DRPS launched Project Vista, after two victims were threatened and assaulted with a firearm.
On Wednesday, June 3, through a joint operation with the Toronto Police Service Gun and Gang Task Force, a suspect was identified and arrested after search warrants were executed at a Toronto residence. As a result, drugs, a prohibited firearm magazine, and ammunition were located and seized.
On Thursday, June 4, an additional search warrant was executed at a residence in Oshawa where several individuals were taken into custody without incident. As a result, a loaded firearm, a quantity of drugs (including cocaine, methamphetamine, heroin, fentanyl, and hydromorphone), drug paraphernalia, and Canadian currency were located and seized.
Three suspects from Oshawa, age 32, 35 and 42 and another, age 55 from Clarington were charged and held for a bail hearing. Names and further details available at www.drps.ca.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact D/Cst. Daddazio of the Central East Division Criminal Investigations Branch at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 1705.
