Three hospitalised after early morning Oshawa fire

Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) yesterday said three people were hospitalised following an early morning fire in Oshawa.

Reports said one person is also reported missing.

To ensure smooth emergency access, DRPS close the area around the fire at Bloor Street East, which was closed in both directions from Albert Street and the Highway 401 ramp. The ramp was still accessible.

“Officers are assisting Oshawa Fire at a working house fire. Three patients have been transported to a local hospital in stable condition at this time. Updates to follow,” said the police.

It asked residents and visitors to avoid the area.

Oshawa Fire Services reported that its crews were on scene of a structure fire in the area of Bloor Street East and Simcoe Street South.

It advised that firefighting operations were underway and asked people to stay clear of the area.

In an earlier update, Oshawa Fire said one resident was removed from the address and is in the care of
Durham Paramedic. Defensive operations have commenced. Crews remain on scene.
