Mystical pull of Durham poles spreads to trees

It seems to be infectious – the mystical pull of Durham hydro poles on motorists, seems to be spreading to trees in the region.

But in the most recent case, the result was serious.

A 31-year-old Stouffville male was seriously injured after being involved in a single motor vehicle collision in Uxbridge, according to Durham Police.

On November 4 at 10:06 am, members of West and North Division responded to a call on Webb Road West just west of Uxbridge Concession Road 3 in Uxbridge for a report of a single motor vehicle collision. The male driver was driving westbound on Webb Road when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree, police said.

The male driver had to be extricated from the motor vehicle and was subsequently transported by air ambulance to a Toronto-area trauma hospital for treatment, where he remains in serious condition.

Members of the DRPS Collision Investigation Unit, attended the scene to conduct an investigation. The area was closed for several hours while evidence was collected.
