Truck and car collide leaving one person dead on the spot

A person has passed away in a serious two-vehicle collision,  according to the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).

This is the second serious collision in the Township in recent days. On May 19, two drivers had to be transport to hospital after a crash (see below).

On May 22, OPP reported that a serious motor vehicle collision took place around 6:52 am on Highway 12 between Scugog Line 12 and Scugog Line 14 in the Saintfield area.

Whitby OPP arrived at the scene to investigate the collision involving a dump truck and a car.  The driver of the passenger vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The road was closed while the investigation was taking place.

Whitby OPP is asking anyone with information or dash camera footage to contact them at 905-668-3388.

Road Closure in Whitby

Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) yesterday announced a road closure in Whitby due to a collision.

The intersection of Conlin Road and Thickson Road were closed for a collision investigation.

The collision involved two vehicles. One person transported to local-area hospital with minor injuries, police said.
