Highway crash injures two drivers + 13 vehicles off roads

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) said a crash on Highway 7A has injured two people in the Township of Scugog.

The incident happened on May 19 on Highway 7A and Island Road in Port Perry, said the OPP Highway Safety Division.

OPP said the collision at 6:54 am involved three vehicles. It is being investigated by OPP Whitby.

Two drivers were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, OPP said adding that Highway 7A had to be closed in both directions for a time.

13 Vehicles Taken Off The Roads

DRPS Traffic Services yesterday said officers continued their commercial motor vehicle enforcement efforts with 18 inspections conducted.

These resulted in 25 charges and 10 vehicles being taken out of service.

On Wednesday, officers from Traffic Services, along with officers from Whitby and Oshawa, conducted inspections on modified and commercial vehicles.

Police said 14 inspections were completed resulting in 40 charges and 3 trucks taken out of service.
