Two caught and charged for racing at 135 kmh in 70 zone

Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) yesterday said two men had their cars impounded after they were caught racing in Ajax.

Two males, a 20-year-old and a 23-year-old were stopped in Ajax after they were clocked racing at at least 135 kmh in a posted 70 kmh zone Sunday morning, said a police statement.

On December 13 at about 3.30 am, a traffic enforcement officer saw two vehicles racing westbound on Taunton Road as a high rate of speed.

The two – from Whitby – were stopped and had their cars impounded for 14 days. their driving licence was suspended for 30 days and they have been charged with stunt driving and motor racing.
