Two face second degree murder charge over Dixon’s death

Investigators from the DRPS homicide unit have arrested two males in relation to the 2023 homicide of Anthony Dixon.

On June 18, 2023, at about 9:40 pm, members from West Division responded to a housing complex at 1580 Kingston Road in Pickering after receiving reports of a shooting. Officers arrived on scene and located one male who had been shot. Officers and paramedics performed life-saving measures; however, the male died at the scene.

The victim was identified as a 17-year-old male, Anthony Dixon.

Following a lengthy investigation, homicide detectives identified two suspects who were taken into custody on August 25 and 26.

One of the accused cannot be identified under provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, as they were a youth at the time of the alleged offence.

A 19-year-old male from Pickering is charged with: Second Degree Murder, and the second suspect, age 22, from Ajax is charged with: Second Degree Murder. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.

Both males were held for a bail hearing.
