UPDATE: Police ask for help in Ajax hit-and-run

Durham Police investigators are asking for witnesses to come forward to help identify a motorist who left the scene on Tuesday after a pedestrian was involved collision in Ajax.

On November at 7:40 pm, a 26-year-old female pedestrian was thrown through the air after being struck at the intersection of Taunton Road and Gillett Drive in Ajax. The vehicle involved failed to remain at the scene, said a police media release.

The female received multiple, serious injuries and was rushed to a Toronto trauma centre, however her injuries are considered non-life threatening, it added.

The vehicle involved may have been a black Honda sedan.
