The Township of Uxbridge is seeking community input on its Downtown Parking Study by inviting residents to attend a Public Information Centre (PIC) that was scheduled for yesterday, February 5 at Town Hall Council Chambers.
The session was to provide an update on the study and offer attendees an opportunity to review findings, ask questions, and provide feedback.
The study, conducted by LEA Consulting Ltd. on behalf of the township, aims to develop a parking policy framework and by-law regulations that align with Uxbridge’s Downtown Revitalization plan. The goal is to ensure parking for residents, business owners, and visitors.
Attendees of the PIC were proposed to:
- Review the study’s background and data collected.
- Learn about updates and next steps in the parking study.
- Provide input on preliminary study recommendations.
- Share comments and ask questions to the project team.
Following the meeting, presentation materials was to be available online through the Downtown Revitalization Project website.
Study Overview
The Parking Study builds upon recommendations from Uxbridge’s Downtown Revitalization Strategic Plan & Action Plan. The study has been conducted in three phases:
- Phase 1: Assessment of parking conditions in Downtown Uxbridge.
- Phase 2: Forecasting parking demand over short-, medium-, and long-term periods.
- Phase 3: Reviewing governance and funding options to propose updates to policies, by-laws, standards, and regulations for on-street and off-street parking.
A Parking Strategy Study Report will summarize the findings and recommendations upon completion.
