Uxbridge to accept toy drive donations until December 19

The Township of Uxbridge said donations of new, unused gift cards and toys will be “gratefully accepted” up to Tuesday, December 19th.

During the holiday season, several Durham agencies collect toys to distribute to families with limited financial means. Currently, Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) has an ongoing toy drive, while both the cities of Pickering and Oshawa have a programme under which traffic fines can be paid with toys of equal or more value.

The Township of Uxbridge said all toys received will be distributed locally.

Donations of new unwrapped toys or gift cards can be dropped off at Canadian Tire, Body Fit, MacDonald’s, Zehrs and Bruins locations.

Prospective donors are urged to visit www.uxbridgetoydrive.com for more details and gift ideas for all ages.
