OPG staff to start moving into Oshawa HQ from 2024

Ontario Power Generation (OPG) has unveiled new property signage and highlighted some of the major renovation work underway at the company’s future corporate headquarters located at 1908 Colonel Sam Drive in Oshawa.

It was a former GM headquarter building.

OPG has operations in Durham Region at the Pickering and Darlington Nuclear Generating Stations. OPG staff will begin moving into the building in 2024, with full occupancy in 2025. The corporate headquarters will bring over 2,000 highly skilled staff from across the Greater Toronto Area, and beyond.

OPG chose to renovate an existing structure, which is more economical than constructing a new building and limits the environmental impact. The new headquarters will encompass a 26,433 square metre (284,522 square foot) office building on 29.94 hectares (74 acres) of land.

“The City of Oshawa is proud to be part of the Clean Energy Capital of Canada and to the future home of the new corporate headquarters for Ontario Power Generation, one of North America’s largest and most diverse electricity generators. We are thrilled to see OPG’s new headquarters taking shape and look forward to welcoming more than 2,000 highly skilled OPG employees to our great city,” said Mayor Dan Carter.
